CARLSBAD: Enjoy art ‘On Your Own Time’ through June 14

CARLSBAD — The city of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts Office hosts its eighth “On Your Own Time: The National Arts Program at Carlsbad” exhibit through June 14 at the William D. Cannon Art Gallery in the Carlsbad City Library complex. The exhibition features artwork by Carlsbad city employees and their families. Admission is free. This year’s display includes 192 pieces of art submitted by 125 employees and family members, in styles ranging from photography to painting and sculpture. A free opening reception will be hosted by the Carlsbad Friends of the Arts on May 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery, and a free Family Open Studios will be offered June 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the gallery courtyard. Materials and workspace are provided for Family Open Studios and no reservations are required.
