Encinitas and its contract building permit and inspection services provider, EsGil Corp., have undertaken a one-year program to waive or reduce fees for installing energy-efficient systems, the city announced in a news release.

The program is designed to promote energy efficiency through the reduction of permitting fees for such work, the city stated. Solar photovoltaic, solar heating and clean natural gas home refueling systems and electric vehicle supply equipment are among the installations eligible for yearlong program.

All permit fees for such installations will be waived starting Aug. 1 through July 31, 2013, according to the city. Fee reductions are available for more complex installations. Call the city’s Planning and Building Department at 760-633-2710 for more information.
