Interested in an old firehouse? Contact Encinitas by March 2

North Coast Current

A deadline to submit letters of interest to lease or purchase a former Encinitas firehouse is fast approaching.

The city seeks letters from interested renters or buyers by 5 p.m. March 2. The fire station, built in the 1970s and located at 1867 Mackinnon Ave. in Cardiff, was replaced by a new station a short distance away. The old station has been closed since 2012, according to the city.

“The City will evaluate all options for the use of the property and is receptive to all proposal letters,” city Senior Management Analyst Bob McSeveney said in an announcement. “However, the City does reserve the right to reject any and all proposals.”

Letters must be sent to the city manager’s office, 505 S. Vulcan Ave., or by email to [email protected]. More information: 760-633-2613. Online: www.encinitasca.gov.
