The MiraCosta Community College District Board of Trustees has an open seat after the resignation of member Leon Page effective March 16.

In a March 19 college district announcement, Page said his resignation was necessary because his family was moving outside the district boundaries.

“This is bittersweet,” Page said in the announcement. “I have enjoyed this time very much and learned a tremendous amount from this board. I am proud of this institution and am so very pleased to leave it in such terrific condition.”

Page joined the MiraCosta board December 2012, representing the Carlsbad region. Page works as a deputy counsel for Orange County. He is a former MiraCosta College adjunct business instructor.

The MiraCosta Community College District Board of Trustees will seek candidates to fill the vacancy. For information, contact Evelyn Crogan, executive assistant to the superintendent/president, at 760-795-6610 or [email protected].
