ENCINITAS — The Encinitas Historical Society is inviting locals and visitors to step back in time with its downtown walking tours, held the third Saturday of every month. Each tour starts at 10 a.m. from the 1883 One-Room Schoolhouse at 390 West F Street, with plenty of free parking available.
The Oct. 18 tour explores the north end of the historic Coast Highway, while the Nov. 5 tour focuses on the south end — giving guests a chance to take in Encinitas history at a relaxed, personal pace.
A suggested $10 donation helps support the all-volunteer, nonprofit society. Kids and dogs are always welcome (and free), and payments can be made by cash, check, or card. For details, call 760-942-9066 or email info@encinitashistoricalsociety.org.
