Encinitas is gearing up for one of its biggest downtown traditions as the 41st Annual Encinitas Holiday Street Fair returns on Sunday, Nov. 23, bringing a full day of vendors, live music, food and family activities to Coast Highway 101.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the beer garden staying open an extra hour until 5 p.m.
The fair stretches from D Street to J Street, a section that will close to traffic starting early that morning to make room for more than 450 booths showcasing local crafts, food and holiday gifts, according to an Encinitas 101 MainStreet Association news release. Visitors can expect three entertainment stages spread throughout the area, each featuring a lineup of local musicians and performers.
This year’s beer garden will offer a range of local beverages, including beer, wine, hard tea, hard honey and hard kombucha. Drink offerings come from regional producers such as Fox Point Farms, Modern Times Brewery, The Lost Abbey, Surfside Iced Tea + Vodka, Lixir Hard Honey, Boochcraft and Bambucha Kombucha. The beer garden is open to all ages, and leashed dogs are welcome.
Live music will run throughout the afternoon. At the Lumberyard Courtyard, the day starts with Cappo Kelley at 11 a.m., followed by Hummingbird Hotel and then Jonny Tarr & Monette Marino closing out the final set. The Beer Garden Stage features Tower 7, Sandollar and then The Sleepwalkers, with DJ Dubstin filling in between performances. A third stage, hosted by Hansen’s, will highlight a mix of emerging local artists.
The Encinitas 101 MainStreet Association, which organizes the fair, describes the event as one of the area’s largest annual gatherings. Along with shopping and entertainment, visitors will find kids’ rides, food options and a bike valet for those who prefer to ride in rather than drive.
