Carlsbad CA— Supporting our local military is a key component of Caring for America activities at Carlsbad Republican Women (CRWF). On October 27th, we are proud to welcome representatives from two Camp Pendleton organizations which help military families – Kiana Bright, General Manager of Fisher House and Sandy Hendren, Community Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Semper Fi Fund.
Fisher House, the new eight-suite, 8,000-plus square-foot home located adjacent to the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital, provides a “home away from home” at no cost for military families who have a loved one receiving medical treatment on the base.
Kiana Bright, General Manager of this new facility, has over 15 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. She will update the club on the Fisher House Foundation and its operations locally and around the country. CRWF members are collecting donations such as food and needed household supplies and will present these “Wish List” items to Ms. Bright at the meeting!
The Semper Fi Fund provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post-9/11 wounded, critically ill, and injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families, ensuring that they have the resources they need during their recovery and transition back to their communities. Sandy Hendren, Community Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Semper Fi Fund at Camp Pendleton, has over 18 years’ experience in the Senior Health Care Field in sales/marketing and social work. She will describe the Fund’s ongoing efforts to provide the best care and support these heroes need and deserve.
Carlsbad Republican Women Federated general meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Green Dragon Tavern and Museum, 6115 Paseo del Norte, Carlsbad, CA 92011.
