San Diego CA— Pro Kids-The First Tee of San Diego is happy to announce The Jack in the Box Foundation as the newest Founder of Pro Kids Academy. The Jack in the Box Foundation sponsorship will include donations of both time and money to help Pro Kids fulfill its mission to challenge underserved youth to excel in life by promoting character development, life skills, and values through education and the game of golf.
“The work that Pro Kids does in the City Heights and Oceanside communities is remarkable and awe-inspiring, as are the kids in the program,” said Jack in the Box Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Phillip Rudolph, who recently joined the Pro Kids’ board of directors and also serves on The Jack in the Box Foundation board.

Pro Kids recently launched the Academy, an after-school program that weaves math, literacy, science, and art instruction into the game of golf. Participation is open to elementary and middle school students who attend the Academy at least twice a week. Members that continue in the program through high school will receive priority consideration for the Pro Kids scholarship, which can be used for college or career training.
“The Academy is the future of Pro Kids, and we’re proud to have Jack in the Box as a Founder,” said Keith Padgett, Pro Kids’ Chief Executive Officer. “We value their endorsement of the program and know it’s going to make a positive difference in so many lives.”
As an Academy Founder, The Jack in the Box Foundation has committed to donating $100,000 to Pro Kids over the next four years. The Foundation is making this level of commitment after an inspiring visit to Pro Kids’ City Heights location, where Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer Lenny Comma, Rudolph, and other company executives had the opportunity to see the neighborhood, play golf with the kids and learn about the program and its huge impact on the community.
