Oceanside CA— On Monday, May 20, 2019, Boy Scout Troop 752 retired 20 United States flags at Guajome Regional Park as a continuous service to the community for 70 years.
Established in 1949, Troop 752 is proud to continue this service to its community. Scout Master Jason Stewart said: “We live in a time where we desperately need examples of patriotism and unity in America. The BSA is a great source to provide our youth with this foundation. I am proud of our boys for their patriotic service to the community.” As 20 flags were retired, each patrol read one of the United States Constitution Amendments.
Declan, age 14, stated: “This means everything to me. Love for my country and love for my troop. I was proud to lead the ceremony today.” At the end of the ceremony, the scouts sang God Bless America. Aaron, age 13, stated: “I was honored to be given the opportunity to play taps. It helps us put the flags to rest and reminds us of the reverence of this service.”
