Carlsbad CA— Thousands of folks from across the county will be heading to the Carlsbad Flower Fields to participate in the third annual North County Heart & Stroke Walk on Saturday, March 7 to raise funds for lifesaving science that helps everyone live a longer, healthier life and to celebrate survivors of heart attack and stroke. It’s an uplifting story than can also provide life-saving info to your readers.
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the US and affects those the community relies on most, including firefighters where heart attacks are the leading cause of death for active duty firefighters.
It’s a myth that heart attacks only happen to unhealthy people. Triathlete Suzy Ryan experienced her heart attack in the middle of a 90-minute swim training session. Luckily, Dr. Carr from Tri-City Medical Center was able to implant three stents into her artery that had been shredded during her heart attack and saved her life.
