San Diego CA— Miracle Babies, a non-profit organization that supports families with critically ill babies in local neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), is in urgent need of gas gift cards to help parents offset costs of transportation to and from the hospital. When a baby is born premature or with medical complications, that family’s life changes drastically. The founding purpose of Miracle Babies is to provide assistance to families with critically ill babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
“COVID-19 is wreaking havoc on families,” said Dr. Sean Daneshmand, Founder of Miracle Babies. “Having to leave your baby in the NICU leaves enough stress on parents and paying for gas is another stressor that they just don’t need. We are asking the community to support these families by donating gas gift cards to help them get to and from the hospital so parents can be with their babies.”
By giving a NICU baby more access to breast milk and skin-to-skin contact, Miracle Babies can change health outcomes. Due to COVID-19, Miracle Babies programs are limited and Miracle Babies is unable to go into hospitals for Miracle Hours or distribute care packages.
Gas gift cards can be donated at www.miraclebabies.org or you can text MIRACLEBABIES to 44-321.
