San Diego CA— Sisters Pizza and a group of volunteers are brightening the lives of over 100 former foster youth during this trying time. Promises2Kids is partnering with Sisters Pizza and volunteers to deliver pizzas to Promises2Kids Guardian Scholars in San Diego. These youth are isolated and without the support of family. They are often alone and the simple act of delivering a fresh pizza to those in need shows these youth that they are not alone.
Deliveries will begin for 10 youth this Saturday night and will continue for 10 evenings reaching 100 students attending local schools.
“We want our youth to know that they are cared for and loved, even though they may be alone at home,” said Tonya Torosian, CEO of Promises2Kids. “The idea of pizza delivery allows us to share a meal with our youth, even if it’s from a distance. Sisters Pizza immediately agreed to make this happen for us and we are so grateful for the support they are showing to foster youth in our programs.”
“More than 60 youth in our programs have lost employment or drastically had their hours cut and we are supporting them by meeting their basic living expenses, such as groceries, household and basic living supplies.”
