
San Marcos CA— Wounded Warrior Homes has expanded its food pantry during this pandemic, to serve the veteran community in San Diego. The pantry includes perishables and nonperishables. Food for Veteran Service Dogs is provided by the Helen Woodward Animal Center AniMeals Program. If you know of a Veteran in need of food for their Service Dog they can contact WWH for assistance.
Entrance to the pantry is by appointment only and social distancing is maintained. Face coverings are also mandatory per the direction of the County of San Diego. Wounded Warrior Homes is getting food donations from a variety of organizations, such as US Foods, Feeding San Diego, the North County Food Bank, and Copia. However, Wounded Warrior Homes is seeking community support with items such as face masks, disinfectant and hand sanitizer, and fresh items like milk, eggs, and cheese. Always welcome is shelf-stable and frozen items such as rice, beans, canned fruit, frozen meats (ground beef, chicken, ground turkey, etc), macaroni and cheese, canned goods, and all kinds of cereal.
Any community member who is able to make a donation can make an appointment (phone number 760-205-5050) to drop items off Monday through Friday, 9am-3pm or shop via Amazon and have it delivered directly: 1145 Linda Vista Rd. #104 San Marcos, CA 92078.
