San Diego CA— Saddleback Church San Diego in Carmel Valley is hosting its first-ever, free Community Block Party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12. All activities will be held where the church meets weekly at Canyon Crest Academy, 5951 Village Center Loop Road, San Diego. The public is invited to attend this family-friendly event. Admission, activities and food are free.
Activities will include rock climbing, carnival games, inflatable slide, inflatable bounce house, live music, free photo opportunity to space characters, face painting and arts and crafts. Free food will include hot dogs, kettle corn, baked goods and salsa. An information booth will be available with details about Saddleback Church and its Peace Plan.
Additional activities will include a collection of backpacks and school supplies to benefit homeless children in San Diego and donations of canned food item to stock the church’s Peace Center Food Pantry to benefit community families.
Some booths will feature vendors from the nearby The Village at Pacific Highlands retail center, located across the street from Canyon Crest Academy. Some vendors will offer coupons for 10 percent discounts at purchases during the weekend of Oct. 12-13.
