Basic Electronics
This introductory, 54-hour course teaches students the basics of electronic technology. Students experiment with direct current, series-parallel circuits and transistors/semiconductors. Fee: $290 Mondays & Wednesdays, 6/1–8/17, 5:30–8 p.m.
OSHA-30
The OSHA-30 hour general industry outreach training course is a comprehensive safety-training program designed for anyone involved in general industry. The course provides extensive information on OSHA compliance, safety and health hazards in the workplace, employer responsibilities, worker rights, and hazard recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention. Fee: $250. Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5/31–6/30, 6–9:30 p.m.
Blueprint Reading I
This 15-hour, hands-on class helps students to read and correctly interpret blueprints. Students will also get an opportunity to draw and edit simple blueprints through step-by-step development of multi-view drawings. Fee: $75. Mondays & Wednesdays, 6/6–6/22, 5–7:30 p.m.
Beginning SolidWorks® for 3D Printing
Learn how to use SolidWorks® mechanical design software to build models of parts, assemblies, and drawings. This 30-hour course will also cover design intent, how to modify previously created features, model interrogation and troubleshooting.
The class will demonstrate how to export CAD data for 3D printing, machining, and 2D drawing generation in a variety of formats. Fee: $150. Mondays & Wednesdays, 6/13–7/18, 6–9 p.m.. No class on 7/4.
Introduction to Electromechanics Build, Troubleshoot & Repair
Electromechanical technicians combine knowledge of mechanical technology with knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits. They install, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade electronic and computer-controlled mechanical systems. This 60-hour, hands-on course is an introduction to this field, focusing on small components, 3D printers, and larger units such as copiers. Fee: $330. Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6/7–8/11, 6–9 p.m.
Digital Precision Measuring Using a Portable CMM
This is an introduction to metrology using a portable CMM and Verisurf CAD software. Students will learn the basics of inspection, measurement, analysis, and reverse engineering. This course is for individuals working within the advanced manufacturing environment. Fee: $199. Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6/7–6/30, 6–9 p.m.
GD&T II
This is an intermediate-level GD&T class for students who want to gain confidence in the use of GD&T on multiple technical drawings. Time is spent on datum comprehension, selection, and applications. Note: Students must have exposure to both blueprint reading and an introductory GD&T course. Fee: $99. Mondays & Wednesdays, 6/6–6/29, 6–8:30 p.m.
Lean Manufacturing II
This second-level course will consist of a refresher of LEAN I and practical applications of standard work. In addition, there will be an overview of error proofing, job instruction, improving job methods, and building a LEAN team. This course is appropriate for supervisors, team leads and managers who are interested in implementing change within their work environment. Fee: $150. Saturday & Sunday, 6/25 & 6/26, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
