Oceanside CA– On Wednesday, October 15th, 2014 at approximately 3:30 pm Officers from the Oceanside Police Department responded to a radio call of an armed robbery at a Carl’s Jr Restaurant located 4186 Oceanside Boulevard. OPD Officers responded to the scene and discovered the suspect, who was armed with a handgun, had fled the area.
The victim and witnesses were contacted, a perimeter was established, and a search for the suspect ensued. The suspect, who was identified as Christian Perez (DOB 08-19-93), was located hiding in some bushes in the 1800 block of College Boulevard. A witness identified Perez as being the suspect and he was transported back to the Oceanside Police Department.
The gun, which was later determined to be a BB gun, was found in the area the suspect was hiding. During an interview with OPD Detectives, Perez admitted to committing this robbery and four others. All five robberies occurred inside fast food restaurants in Oceanside and occurred over a two week period.
Perez was transported to the Vista Detention Facility and booked in on five counts of Armed Robbery.
