Western Fairs Association Honors Fairgrounds with 34 Awards
Del Mar CA— The San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons/Sav-on was once again a top award winner at the Western Fairs Association (WFA) Convention and Trade Show held January 11 – 14 in Reno, Nevada. The 2014 Fair received a total of 34 awards including categories in Marketing and Agriculture/Educational Programs, the Fair Theme, Crisis Management and New Community Outreach Programs. WFA is a non-profit trade association serving the Fair industry in the Western United States and Canada.
“The San Diego County Fair is a proven leader in the Fair industry honoring our history and the mission of the 22nd District Agricultural Association,” stated General Manager/CEO of the 22nd DAA, Timothy J. Fennell. “Historically the Fair has been an integral part of San Diego County by supporting local commerce and employing more than 1,900 people during the Fair season. Agriculture and educational activities such as 4-H, FFA, Grange and other youth development programs are always at the forefront as we strive to keep agriculture thriving for future generations. We are proud to carry on the fruitful history of the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.”
