Weapons Found in Suspects Vehicle
Vista CA— The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Deputies involved in the August 11, 2016 fatal shooting of a suspect, Sergio Weick, 33, [See story here] have been identified as Deputy Peter Myers and Deputy Christopher Villanueva.
Deputy Myers is assigned to the Vista Station and has been employed as a deputy sheriff with the San Diego Sheriff’s Department for 8 years. Deputy Villanueva is also assigned to the Vista Station and has been employed as a deputy sheriff with the San Diego Sheriff’s Department for 2 months. Deputy Villanueva had previously been employed as police officer for 2 years with another local law enforcement agency prior to being hired by the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.
On Monday August 15, 2016 detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail and personnel from the Sheriff’s Crime Lab completed their search of the vehicle driven by Sergio Weick. Found inside the vehicle was a sawed-off shotgun, multiple knives, a sword, additional ammunition for the shotgun and drug paraphernalia.
Additionally, the Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the autopsy related to this incident. The cause of death was due to trauma from multiple gunshot wounds.
