Carlsbad CA— Investigators are asking for the community’s assistance to help identify suspects in last evening’s altercation. Patrons of the Pizza Port Restaurant, located in the 500 block of Carlsbad Village Drive near Tyler Street and Roosevelt Street that witnessed the altercation are asked to call Sergeant Darbie Ernst at 760-931-2139.
On August 24 at 8:45 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department received a report of several males causing a disturbance in the 500 block of Carlsbad Village Drive near Tyler Street and Roosevelt Street.
A second caller to the Police Department reported a person had been stabbed in the parking lot.
Officers found the victim, a 26-year-old male, with multiple stab wounds in a parking lot to the rear of the business.
The City of Carlsbad Fire Department responded and provided medical aid to the victim. The Fire Department transported the victim to Scripps Medical Center in La Jolla where his minor injuries were treated and he was released.
Officer interviewed multiple witnesses and Carlsbad police investigators were called to the scene.
Witnesses reported that the victim was stabbed multiple times while in an altercation with several subjects.
Officers, investigators and evidence technicians are investigating. The team is interviewing multiple witnesses, following leads and processing evidence to understand what occurred and to identify the suspects.
