Oceanside CA— Early this morning, April 24, 2018 shortly after 3:45am, Oceanside Police Officers responded to a single vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of SR-76 and Canyon Dr. On arrival, officers found the driver was trapped in the vehicle.
Oceanside Fire Department personnel responded and used the “Jaws of Life” to extricate the victim. She was transported to Scripps Encinitas where she succumbed to her injuries.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time. Accident investigators were called to the scene to conduct the investigation.
The accident victim is identified as a 68-year-old female. Her name is being withheld pending notification of family members.
