The San Diego Strike Force indoor football team improved to 9-4 and now rides a six-game winning streak after they defeated the Bay Area Panthers by a 46-38 score July 7 at Frontwave Arena in Oceanside.
“(Strike Force Quarterback) Nate Davis has kept us in the game this season and gets more first downs,” San Diego Strike Force Head Coach Taylor Genuser said. “When leading 14-7, we did a good job at keying on the Panthers. They’re very well coached along with being one of the best teams in the league.”
In the fourth quarter with the Strike Force up 40-31, Bay Area Quarterback Josh Jones’ 195 yards passing, connected on a 4-yard pass to Trevon Alexander, 46 yards receiving to go within 2 at 40-38. Davis scored the last touchdown of the game on a 3-yarder with 50 seconds.
“When we led, I told our guys don’t make us get penalties and just to be unselfish to do the right things,” Genuser said. “Josh Jones is a very good quarterback and competitive that I would like to have on my team. He was good with Northern Arizona last year; he is one of the best young quarterbacks in this league.”
