Authorities arrested two suspects Wednesday, Oct. 15, in connection with more than 35 commercial burglaries that occurred in Oceanside during September downtown and along the College Boulevard and Marron Road corridor, the Oceanside Police Department reported.
“On Wednesday, October 15, the Oceanside Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Oceanside Police SWAT Team, executed search warrants at multiple locations,” the department reported. “During the searches, officers recovered five stolen and illegal firearms, ammunition, high-capacity magazines, stolen checks, credit cards, passports, identification cards, and U.S. currency.”
Search and arrest warrants were obtained as investigators combed through a large amount of surveillance footage and took multiple reports from businesses, the department stated. The suspects used a U-Haul truck in the burglaries.
The suspects, who were not identified in the department’s report, were booked on felony charges of grand theft, burglary, conspiracy and possession of stolen property, among other charges.
“The Oceanside Police Department commends the outstanding teamwork among its patrol, investigative, and tactical units for their efforts in bringing this case to a successful conclusion,” the department stated.
