Pacific Ridge School is celebrating 16 student artists whose work was selected for the 2025 Youth Art Month Exhibition, sponsored by the California Art Education Association.
This year’s theme, “The World Needs Art,” invites young artists to interpret, challenge, and reimagine the world around them. Two Pacific Ridge students earned the top countywide honors in the digital art category, with senior Nico Bisconti taking first place and senior Hayden Donahue earning second place.
The following Pacific Ridge students also had artwork selected for display in the exhibition: Gia Gutierrez, Samantha Smith, Ethan Jochelson, Judith Curiel, Jaime Aharoni, Coco Ye, Owen Hughes, Luca Collins, Jackson Winters, Ethan Yi, Audel Mobasher, Mathew Shore, Maggie Singer and Michael Fredericks.
Their pieces span a wide range of mediums and themes, from detailed illustration and mixed media to photography and digital design, showcasing the breadth and depth of Pacific Ridge School’s visual arts program.
“We are incredibly proud of our students artists’ recognition in this year’s Youth Art Month juried exhibition,” said Alison Behr, chair of the Pacific Ridge School Arts Department. “Their work reflects not only technical skill, but also conceptual power, creative independence, and a desire to interpret the world from diverse perspectives — qualities we strive to nurture in every Pacific Ridge student.”
The 2025 Youth Art Month Exhibition is open to the public from now through January 11 at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, 15498 Espola Road in Poway. A closing reception and awards ceremony will take place Jan. 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. The first and second place photographs will advance to the Southern California area show at the Riverside Art Museum, where they will be included in a selective group of regional artists March 7-21.
Pacific Ridge School is a nonprofit private college preparatory school that serves more than 650 students in grades six through 12.
