Sprouts Farmers Market announced June 23 the expansion of its partnership with Los Angeles-based Klatch Coffee, bringing 11 in-store cafes to select Sprouts locations across Southern California and San Diego County.
The growth builds on the success of the initial collaboration with Klatch Coffee and reflects Sprouts’ continued investment in enhancing the in-store experience.
The expansion marks the first Klatch Coffee cafes in San Diego County and represents the next phase of the coffee brand’s broader growth. Sprouts first introduced Klatch Coffee cafes in its stores in 2024. Today, there are currently 14 cafes in Sprouts across Southern California.
“At Sprouts, we’re continuously listening to our customers and evolving the in-store experience in ways that feel both meaningful and relevant to the communities we serve,” said Mandy Rassi, chief customer officer at Sprouts Farmers Market. “Expanding our partnership with Klatch Coffee reflects that commitment, further extending two brands grounded in shared values around quality, innovation and better ingredients. We’re intentionally creating a distinctive experience that enhances how our customers shop, connect, and discover at Sprouts.”
A Southern California original since 1993, Klatch sources only top-tier beans, including Cup of Excellence coffees rated 90 points or higher, and roasts them in-house to deliver a consistently elevated, feel-good experience. The partnership also reflects a strong focus on people and planet. Through a direct-trrade model, Klatch works directly with growers and pays well above Fair Trade minimums, supporting farmers and their communities while enabling more sustainable environmental and social practices. The result is better coffee for customers and a more responsible approach from farm to cup.
“We’ve found a partner in Sprouts Farmers Market that is closely aligned with our values — including unique beverages, exceptional quality, and sustainable sourcing practices. From our relationships with coffee producers around the world, to the roasting process, to menu development, to barista training, we’ve poured our passion for specialty coffee into every step of our work for more than 3 decades,” Klatch Coffee CEO Heather Perry said. “We can’t wait to share our craft with the communities in South Orange and San Diego Counties.”
The first two cafes will open on Thursday, July 2, at the Sprouts Carlsbad-Uptown Bressi and Laguna Niguel locations, with additional cafes opening throughout the summer.
Grand opening events will take place from July 2-5 with giveaways, a gift card raffle for Klatch Coffee and Sprouts Farmers Market gift cards, and a Geisha coffee tasting. Each in-store cafe will offer Klatch Coffee’s award-winning specialty beverages, plus the limited-time-only Naked Verbena, served exclusively during the grand opening celebration.
Featuring fresh lemon verbena leaves, lemon peel and shaken espresso over house made simple syrup, the Naked Verbena is the perfect way to welcome summer. This is the beverage that Heather Perry used to win the US Barista Championships. Guests will receive a limited-edition Klatch x Sprouts glass can with purchase of the Naked Verbena during the grand opening celebration.
