The international event runs Sept. 19-21, led by a World Surf League QS4000 women’s competition as well as live concerts and a variety of programming dedicated to empowering and uplifting women, according to a news release from ASA Entertainment, which produces the event. All competitions, concerts and activities are free to attend and available to the public.
Local champion surfers return this season, including Encinitas native Alyssa Spencer, Oceanside native Caity Simmers, and San Clemente natives Sawyer Lindblad, Kirra Pinkerton, Samantha Sibley and Eden Walla, as well as Keala Tomoda-Bannert and Pipe Masters Champion Moana Jones Wong.
The event runs 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, through Sunday, Sept. 21. It will also be streamed live from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. PST via 15 digital partners and at supergirlsufpro.com and twitch.tv/supergirlseries, and televised on 28 national and regional broadcasters from Nov. 10 to Jan. 31.
“It’s inspiring to see such a powerful blend of competition, culture, and community coming together beyond the top-notch surfing,” ASA Entertainment CEO Rick Bratman said in the news release. “Having so many people and brands support Super Girl’s mission around empowering and creating opportunities for women is incredibly impactful.”

“The lineup of influential female athletes, creators, artists, musicians, instructors, speakers, and advocates committed to Super Girl is absolutely amazing,” Bratman said.
The event will also feature more than 600 women participating across 10 sports, such as beach volleyball, cheer and dance, inline skating, lifesaving, longboarding, quad skating, skateboarding with Olympic Bronze Medalist Sky Brown, and soccer.
“At the heart of the event is a festival village, featuring 17 live concerts, an all-female DJ showcase, fitness and wellness classes, celebrity speakers and panels, a female art exhibition, roller skating, an adult beverage garden, local food tents, and more than 50 brand activations,” ASA Entertainment stated in its announcement. “There are also mentorship programs connecting youth with professional female athletes and a variety of family-friendly activities designed to uplift and unite.”
