A group of San Diego musicians will perform songs associated with some of American rock-and-roll’s best-known artists during an Aug. 7 concert at the Bornemann Theatre in San Marcos.
“Music By Eras Presents: The Heartland” will begin at 7 p.m. at the theater, located on TERI’s Campus of Life at 555 Deer Springs Road, according to a news release.
The concert will feature music inspired by Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen, Linda Ronstadt, Neil Young, Bob Seger, John Mellencamp, the Eagles and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Organizers said the production will combine live performances with stories about the music and artists.
The lineup includes Whitney Shay, a five-time San Diego Music Award winner and Billboard No. 1 blues artist; Jesse Ray Smith, a five-time San Diego Music Award nominee; Lauren Leigh, a San Diego Music Award-winning singer-songwriter and member of Stucky Leigh; and Will Stucky, a 2025 San Diego Music Award nominee and fellow Stucky Leigh member.
The performance is part of Music By Eras, a collective of professional musicians that produces concerts centered on influential artists and periods in popular music.
Ticket and concession proceeds from events at the Bornemann Theatre help support programs operated by TERI, an Oceanside-based nonprofit that serves people with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, according to the organization.
TERI provides specialized education, arts and enrichment programs, employment training, residential services and family support. Its 20-acre Campus of Life includes the 200-seat Bornemann Theatre, which opened in 2024 and hosts concerts, comedy, theater, film and community events.
The theater also serves as the home stage of the TERI Players, an ensemble of performers with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Tickets for “The Heartland” start at $35. Free parking will be available, and TERI Common Grounds Café will offer on-site dining beginning at 4 p.m. Additional information is available through the Bornemann Theatre at thebornemann.com.
