OCEANSIDE — The Valley Arts Festival is back for its fifth year on Saturday, Nov. 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m at Heritage Park. Hosted by Studio ACE and supported by Visit Oceanside and SoCal Edison, the festival honors Oceanside’s indigenous roots — especially the Luiseño people, or Payómkawichum, meaning “People of the West.”
This year’s theme, Spirit of the Valley: Kíicha Nights, Coyote Dreams, features a full day of music, art and hands-on fun. Expect Native American drumming, blues music by Tracy Lee Nelson, student performances and a replica Kíicha (traditional Luiseño home). Visitors can participate in basket weaving, painting and community murals, or browse local native art and fry bread stands.
The festival is free, family-friendly and open to everyone. No alcohol or weapons, and service dogs only. Heritage Park is located at 220 Peyri Drive in Oceanside. Learn more at studioace.org/valley-arts-festival.
