Two children suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in a hit-and-run accident Monday, Jan. 29, in San Marcos, authorities reported.

Deputies found the two, whose ages and identities were not given, lying injured in the roadway near an e-bike at about 7:15 p.m. near Grand Avenue and Linda Vista Drive, according to a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department report. The children appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

Authorities learned that the children had been riding the e-bike westbound on Grand Avenue when they were reportedly struck by a vehicle, the Sheriff’s Department stated. The driver left the scene in the vehicle before deputies arrived.

The children were transported to a hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Department report.
