San Marcos Knights basketball defeats Hornets in tournament play

The Knights of San Marcos High School improved their record at 24-6 and rode a six-game win streak, advancing to the semifinal round of the Division I CIF Boys Basketball Tournament as they defeated the 11-19 Hornets of Lincoln High School by a 73-52 score on Feb. 17.

Jalen Williams led the Knights with 21 points, 18 by Colton Kelley and 16 by Richie Ramirez.

For Lincoln, Derrion Manson led the Hornets with 13 points, Jamarion Sykes 11 and Deandre Walker 8.

San Marcos next met Mission Bay in a Division I semifinal contest on Feb. 21.
