Oceanside CA— On Friday May 8th, 2015 at approximately 9:00 a.m., a 17 year old male student at Ocean Shores High School was arrested and taken into custody for making criminal threats towards others at El Camino High School. School Officials at Ocean Shores High School brought the 17 year old student into the school administration office after he was found to have written a note, under a false name, with threatening words about a teacher.
During a health and safety check, the 17 year old student was found to have an empty handgun holster inside his pants. The student was also found in possession of a journal where he wrote about killing other people during a school shooting at El Camino High School. Prior to attending Ocean Shores High School, the 17 year old student did attend El Camino High School.
After the 17 year old student was taken into custody, Oceanside Police Detectives and School Resource Officers executed a search warrant at the juvenile’s residence. Detectives and Officers located more hand written documentation threatening violence towards people at the school, replica guns, and body armor in the 17 year old student’s bedroom.
The investigation is on-going at this time.
