ENCINITAS – Sculptor Carlos Vega is Lux Art Institute’s current artist in residence, with in-studio work through Feb. 2. Vega’s work will be on exhibit through March 2. Hours are 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays. Vega, a native of Spain who currently lives in New York City, is living at Lux while working on a diptych featuring two metaphorical “trees of life.” Lux has also opened a refurbished retail store featuring work by several San Diego artists and designers.
