Vista CA— On May 6th, 2015, at about 4:35 p.m., deputies from the Vista Patrol Station responded to a reported disturbance [Link] involving a group of men next to the 7/11 store located 900 N. Santa Fe Avenue in the city of Vista.
When deputies arrived they found Vista resident, 32-year-old Francisco Castro unconscious on the ground with severe trauma to his head. Mr. Castro was transported to the hospital where he remained until he passed away on November 9th 2015.
The Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy and concluded that Mr. Castro died from complications caused by blunt force trauma to his head. Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Castro.
Investigators believe there were multiple witnesses to the event who have information and who have yet to come forward.
