ENCINITAS — Encinitas Toastmasters invites residents to its open house Oct. 24, 7-8:30 p.m., to meet members and watch special guest speaker Norm Nomura, who recently won the local District Championships for Humorous Speech and the International Speech Contest. He’ll also talk about the importance of communication skills for today’s professional. Members and guests can enjoy part of a regular meeting, including impromptu speeches, an evaluation of Nomura’s speech, and refreshments and socializing to learn more about the club.
