Oceanside CA— On Sunday, April 16, 2017 at approximately 8:00pm, Margaret Examus was struck by a vehicle as she crossed Mission Avenue in the 1400 block. Examus succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene.
Information was developed over the course of the investigation that lead to the identity of a suspect. Today, June 13, 2017, 22-year-old Oceanside resident, Edward Anthony Hernandez was arrested by the Oceanside Police Department and charged with CVC 20001(a), Hit & Run Causing Death.
Hernandez is the owner of the vehicle observed by witnesses during the original incident.
