Carlsbad CA—At the April 26th forum, the Carlsbad Action Network (CAN) welcomes 2018 conservative candidates for the 49th U.S. Congressional District and the 76th CA Assembly District. The forum will be held 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Carlsbad Dove Library Schulman Auditorium, 1775 Dove Lane, Carlsbad. Attendees will meet the candidates on the library patio from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m., with the forum commencing at 6:00 p.m.
The 49th Congressional candidates are vying to replace Republican Darrell Issa who is not seeking re-election. The 49th covers the northern coastal areas of San Diego County, including the cities of Oceanside, Vista, Carlsbad, and Encinitas, as well as a small portion of southern Orange County. Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is also in the district. The 76th Assembly District encompasses Camp Pendleton, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside and Vista. This seat is currently held by Republican Rocky Chavez, who is now one of the candidates running to replace Darrell Issa for the 49th.
Local political activist and candidate for the Carlsbad City council, CAN member Kris Urdahl will moderate the forum. Candidates will have an opportunity to present their platforms and policy positions, followed by questions from the moderator. Plan to attend this FREE event to be better informed in your selection of candidates on the June 5th California primary ballot.
