Oceanside CA— The Oceanside Police Department has released a sketch of a suspect in the attempted kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl on Thursday.
On May 30, 2019 at 7:20 am, Oceanside Police responded to a report of an attempt kidnapping in the area of Mesa Drive and Vanilla Way.

The female victim was walking East on Mesa Drive on her way to El Camino High School. At one point she past the suspect walking in the opposite direction. After passing the suspect he turned and grabbed her in a bear hug. During the altercation the suspect fell and the victim was able to escape making it to school where she notified security.
Oceanside Police Units along with a department drone were deployed to the area in an attempt to locate the suspect.
The suspect is identified as possibly homeless (dirty looking) white male, in his 50’s, very thin, approximately 5’9” 150lbs. He was wearing a tan pull over sweatshirt with a zipper at the chest and black baggy, dirty jeans. He was bald on top of his head and had short light brown hair on the sides. He also had a scab on right side of his neck.
