Oceanside CA— The Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation has announced this year’s OCAF Scholarship recipients:
Chiara Curnow, Fallbrook High School, dancer and choreographer. She has been described as ‘an exemplary student, athlete, leader and young woman’. Besides team Captain for the Dance Team, choreographer for the spring shows at school, she also participated in several school clubs, volunteers for the children’s ministry at her church, and graduated with a 4.20 GPA! She plans to work for a Master’s Degree in Education.
Brenna Farris, Classical Academy, musical theatre performer who has been on stage at several local theatres. She is the recipient of 2 National Youth Arts Awards. Brenna is also active as an assistant director, and choreographer for Vista Classical Academy’s children’s theatre productions. She is described as a” talented young actor and singer, with one of the biggest hearts.” Always ready to help a younger actor. She is looking forward to attending Chapman University.
Danika Benson, Oceanside High School has been a member of the performing arts program for four years including Wind Ensemble, Drumline and Marching Band. She has also been in CSUSMs’ Wind Ensemble from sophomore to senior year and has taught at Tilgman’s Music Academy as a volunteer where I instructed the flute choir and gave flute lessons. Danika’s describes as, “ a talented performer and a strong leader, a wonderful mentor to other students.” She intends to attend University of Nevada, Reno.
