Carlsbad CA— Covid has delayed Rubio’s Coastal Grill’s ten-year World Oceans Day tradition of giving out free bags, but Rubio’s is still celebrating on Tuesday, June 8. With the eatery’s long-standing commitment to the ocean and sustainability, Rubio’s is commemorating the day by donating $1 for every seafood entrée sold to the Rob Machado Foundation, dedicated to preserving the ocean and making sustainable choices.
“We’ll announce the date soon for the new, insulated bags to be given out later in June,” said Ralph Rubio, Rubio’s co-founder. “Rubio’s is passionate about World Oceans Day and keeping our oceans clean and safe for generations to come. Our dedication to ocean conservation includes serving a menu of craveable dishes featuring sustainable or responsibly sourced seafood, using reusable catering bags, Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)-certified paper cups and compostable takeout containers.”
Rubio’s locations across California, Arizona and Nevada are open and guests may also order online, or through the app, for contact-free curbside or express pickup, or delivery for just $1.99. The imaginative Rubio’s x Blais Street Taco Plate, developed with Celebrity Chef Richard Blais, is on the menu through the summer.
