Los Angeles CA— Today, Metrolink announced it is suspending rail service to the San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente and Oceanside stations beginning tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 16 for emergency track work to stabilize the right-of-way in the San Clemente area and ensure the safety of its operations. The suspended service will affect trains on the Orange County and Inland Empire-Orange County lines.
Metrolink’s goal is to resume service by Monday, Oct. 4. If the work is done earlier than expected, Metrolink service will also resume, which will quickly be communicated to passengers.
During the work period, Metrolink trains will operate as far south as the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo Station. There will be no alternate bus service to connect to the San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente or Oceanside stations.
