Escondido CA— The Escondido Art Association announces its Art Scholarship Program for 2021-2022. Graduating seniors currently enrolled in any Escondido-based high school are invited to apply. A total of $1,000 in Scholarship money will be awarded as follows: $500-First Place, $250-Second Place, $150-Third Place, and two $50 Honorable Mention awards, in addition to a free two-year membership in the Escondido Art Association. In order to compete, students must: (1) fill out a Scholarship Application/Entry Form; (2) obtain a letter of recommendation from their scholarship coordinator/art teacher; (3) write an essay about their interest in art; and (4) submit three pieces of artwork (at least one original.)
Escondido high schools will be contacted shortly in order to set up a schedule for a brief presentation to be given by our new President, Jerry Mason, when classes resume in January after the holiday vacation. Scholarship materials are being made available from scholarship coordinators at the various schools, as well as on the EAA website, www.escondidoartassociation.com. Completed packages must be submitted to the Artists Gallery at 121 W. Grand Avenue, Escondido, on the deadline drop-off date of Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Winners will be notified by March 9, and accepted artwork will remain on exhibit through the end of March.
A Reception and Awards Ceremony is being planned at the Artists Gallery on Saturday, March 12 from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m., with student awards being presented at 5:30 p.m. For more information please visit our website www.escondidoartassociation.com, speak to your H.S.
