Valley Center CA– The man whose body was found near a hiking trail in Valley Center has been identified, by the San Diego County Coroners Office, as Samuel Holiman, 57 of San Diego.
On the afternoon of April 19, the decedent was found on a mountain trail, in the Hell Hole Canyon County Preserve, by a hiker. 9-1-1 was called and a deputy responded to the area along with Park Rangers. The Sheriff’s A.S.T.R.E.A. responded to the area and surveyed the scene. The helicopter landed and dropped off their observer nearby, A.S.T.R.E.A. then shuttled personnel from the Command Post to the scene.
The Medical Examiner processed the scene and with the assistance of A.S.T.R.E.A. transported the remains from the area. The cause of death is unknown at this time, the Medical Examiner will continue their investigation. There was no apparent injury or trauma to the body.
