UPDATE: The hit and run vehicle and the driver have been located in the city of San Diego. The investigation is still on-going as Investigators follow-up on leads pertaining to this case. The public is encouraged to contact the Oceanside Police Department with any information related to this event.

Oceanside CA– On the night of September 20-21st, a person riding a bicycle was struck and killed in the 3900 block of North River Road in Oceanside.
The unidentified victim was struck by a westbound vehicle which then fled the scene. Vehicle debris was left at the scene and has been identified as parts belonging to a 2013-14 Kia, Soul. The vehicle is “Alien Green” in color, similar to lime green.
The suspect vehicle should have damage to the passenger side along with probable front-end damage including a missing headlight assembly.
The incident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information about this fatal hit and run is asked to call the Oceanside Police Traffic Investigator, Yancey Blackwell 435-4801
