Oceanside CA— MiraCosta College is offering the following 15-week, 3-unit, transferable hospitality courses this fall. Both begin 9/6/16 and are taught online:
HOSP 125: Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Management, class #2890, 9/6/16–12/17/16
This course explores the role, nature, and range of commercial and community recreation. Students examine the activities and professional opportunities available for recreation, parks, and leisure management. Students may be required to visit parks and recreational facilities.
HOSP 134: Sustainable Facilities Management, class #1531, 9/6/16–12/17/16
This course examines hospitality-industry practices in lodging and food-service property management. Topics include how sustainable practices apply to the management and design of hospitality facilities, implications of the United Nations’s environmental guidelines, industry trends, and techniques to reduce expenses, increase efficiency, and ensure safe and sanitary operations that meet guests’ expectations. Students may be required to visit various hospitality sites.
