The Oceanside Police Department is investigating the discovery of a severely injured e-bike rider just after midnight Wednesday, Feb. 11.
Officers were on patrol near Coast Highway and Seagaze Drive at about 12:10 a.m. when they found the rider in the road, according to a Police Department report. Authorities described the rider as a 52-year-old man, who had apparently been traveling on an e-bike when he sustained the injuries.
The man was transported by Oceanside Fire Department responders to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for treatment, authorities stated. It was unknown whether any other vehicles or people were involved, and an investigation underway.
