A teenage girl died after being struck by a car Friday, July 10, on El Camino Del Norte in the Olivenhain community of Encinitas, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station responded at about 7:16 p.m. Friday to a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian in the 2700 block of El Camino Del Norte.
Preliminary information indicates that a man driving a 2025 Nissan Z was traveling west on El Camino Del Norte as the teen was crossing the road, a Sheriff’s Office report stated. The vehicle and pedestrian collided in the roadway, and she died at the scene.
The driver remained at the location and was not injured. Authorities said alcohol or drug use is not believed to have been a factor in the collision, which remains under investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office report did not identify the pedestrian or driver. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office later identified the pedestrian as Seraphina Rose Fadick, 17, of Encinitas.
