Oceanside CA— Oceanside resident and children’s author Kate Allen Fox’s debut picture book, Pando, A Living Wonder of Trees (illustrated by Turine Tran), was published this month by Capstone Editions to critical acclaim. Pando, a lyrical nonfiction picture book intended for ages 6—11, is an inspiring tribute to a grove of quaking Aspen trees connected by their roots to form one of the world’s oldest and largest living things.
Fox engages readers’ senses to help convey the vastness of Pando, the challenges it faces, and how we all can be part of the solution. With lyrical poetry, Fox summarizes the science, action, and compassion needed to save this wonder of nature. Aspen trees grow throughout North Hemisphere, including in northern and southern California.
Pando received a starred review from School Library Journal, which called it “an important story that will inspire young readers to learn more about the environment and their role within it.”
Pando is also available wherever books are sold, including Amazon, your local bookseller, and Barnes and Noble.
