New Social Justice Book Club at the Oceanside Library

New+Social+Justice+Book+Club+at+the+Oceanside+Library

Oceanside CA— The public is invited to join a new in-person and online adult book club covering social justice topics on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Mission Branch Library Community Room, 3861-B Mission Ave. Oceanside, CA 92058. The first meeting will be February 2, 2022, where the novel Your House Will Pay by Steph Cha will be discussed. It’s a timely book that showcases two cultures and two families forced to confront injustice, enduring anger and profound loss. Copies of the book can be found in the Library’s catalog.
The Social Justice Book Club will explore social justice issues through literature and nonfiction while having a safe place to discuss important topics, share ideas, and inspire critical thinking about equality and justice. In March, the Social Justice Book Club will be discussing All About Love: New Visions by bell hooks. Please visit https://bit.ly/osidesignup to register for this book club.
The Oceanside Public Library, a department of the City of Oceanside, empowers the community by promoting literacy, information access, civic engagement, cultural inclusiveness, and openness to new ideas. By contributing to a more just society, the Library envisions a community where all are welcome and enjoy a sense of well-being.
