ENCINITAS — The Rancho Coastal Humane Society and local artists invite the public to a July 26 reception to kick off the monthlong Zooinitas Extravaganza Exhibition, a collaboration designed to support the humane society’s Animal Safehouse Program. The event runs 1-4 p.m. at the Encinitas Library, 540 Cornish Drive. From July 14 to Aug. 24, seventeen local artists will present a diverse and unusual peek into their visions of animals. “Encinitas is home to a diverse population of talented artists. During the opening reception our guests will experience all forms of artistic expression,” local artist and Zooinitas curator Cheryl Ehlers said in an announcement. The reception will include music by the group Second Cousins, refreshments, a silent auction and Toys for Pups donation drive. More information: Email [email protected].
