CARLSBAD — Join the city of Carlsbad on a guided hike on Saturday, June 3, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in celebration of National Trails Day. Event staff will lead participants along the Rancho Carrillo Trail, starting from Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch. Participants can also take the National Trails Day pledge, committing to leaving the trails and outdoor community better than they found them. The approximately 4-mile trail is divided by Melrose Drive into two routes, one on each side of Melrose Drive. The trail to the east of Melrose connects to the San Marcos trail system in the open space corridor at Carlsbad’s eastern border. The trail west of Melrose connects with the trails of Bressi Ranch, The Greens and Alga Norte Community Park. Meet at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park, 6200 Flying Leo Carrillo Lane in Carlsbad.
