Golden Bowl restaurant in Encinitas was robbed at gunpoint Oct. 6, the Sheriff’s Department reported.

At 7:55 p.m., a lone male suspect armed with a handgun entered the restaurant, located in the Sprouts shopping center at 1337 Encinitas Blvd. The suspect came in through an unlocked side door and ordered the restaurant’s owner to lie on the floor, authorities reported. The owner then ran outside and screamed for help.

The suspect took a money drawer and fled, the Sheriff’s Department stated. The suspect is described as Latino, 20-30 years old, 5 feet tall with a heavy build. He wore a yellow bandana covering his face. Deputies searched the area for the suspect, but he wasn’t found, authorities reported.
